Vehicular Behavior-Aware Beamforming Design for Integrated Sensing and Communication Systems

Communication and sensing are two important features of connected autonomous vehicles (CAVs). In traditional vehicle-mounted devices, communication modules exist but in an isolated way, resulting a waste hardware resources wireless spectrum. this paper, to cope with the above inefficiency, we propose vehicular behavior-aware integrated (VBA-ISAC) beamforming design for transmitter multiple antennas. work, beams steered based on behaviors assist driving meanwhile provide spectral-efficient uplink data services help roadside unit (RSU). Specifically, first predict area interest (AoI) be sensed vehicles’ trajectories. Then, formulate VBA-ISAC problem sense AoI while maximizing spectral efficiency communications, where trade-off factor is introduced balance performance. A semi-definite relaxation-based beampattern mismatch minimization (SDR-BMM) algorithm proposed solve formulated problem. To reduce cost power consumption, further improve by introducing hybrid analog-digital (HAD) structure. Numerical results verify effectiveness scheme show that outperforms benchmarks both radar beampattern.
